Description

Apple pie is delicious. French toast is delicious. It’s only natural to combine the two into what could be the best breakfast ever! Enjoy warm spices and sweet apples, all stacked along rich, fluffy brioche.

Recipe

  1. Make your batter by whisking your eggs, milk, vanilla, and salt together.  Each slice of brioche gets soaked in the batter until thoroughly coated.

  2. While the brioche is soaking, peel and slice your apples to your desired size.

  3. Set your stovetop to medium-high heat and grease a pan with enough butter to coat it.  Once it's heated, cook your French toast for 3-4 minutes per side, or until cooked to your preferred doneness.

  4. At the same time, place some butter into a saucepan, and once hot, cook your apples in there with lemon juice, cinnamon powder, vanilla extract, and a bit of brown sugar.

  5. Once everything is ready, take your stewed apples off the stove, and let your French toast slices rest for a few minutes before plating.

Plating

  1. Arrange your French toast slices as desired. Top them off with as many stewed apples and walnuts as you’d like; the more, the merrier!

  2. Sprinkle a dash of cinnamon powder across your plate, get yourself a bit of whipped topping, and you’re ready to dig in.

  3. If this doesn’t satisfy your sweet tooth, you can still add French toast’s signature partner: a warm drizzle of maple syrup.
